How to claim

You will only be able to see details of your claims that were processed with a service date after 1 July 2017. The information for any claims with a service date before 1 July 2017, will be available on your next claims statement.

What to remember

  • Claims must be submitted within four months of the service or treatment date. Older claims will be considered expired and will not be paid
  • Make sure that your membership number, the healthcare provider’s details and the practice number are clear on the claim
  • Send a detailed claim and not just a receipt, as we need the details of what you are claiming for in order to process your claim quickly and correctly.

Remember: If your Healthcare Provider sends the claim to us electronically, you don’t need to send us a copy.

You can send us your claims in one of the following ways:

Email - scan and email your claims to claims@sabmas.co.za

Please note that emails over 1MB in total size will not be accepted on this address so members are advised to size their image files accordingly.

Website: Scan and upload your claims, you will need to be logged in.

Post: Send your claims to SABMAS Claims, P O Box 652509, Benmore 2010

Fax: Fax your claims to 0860 329 252 (please make sure that the details are clear by first making a photocopy and faxing the copy through).

Claims drop-off boxes: Drop off your claims in any of the Discovery Health drop-off boxes located in most pharmacies, medical practices, Virgin Active and Planet Fitness gyms nationwide.
